In all direct marketing communications, you will have the ability to opt out of receiving further marketing material. If you prefer not to receive promotional communications, please contact us at privacy@bginvo.com.

    Disclosure of Information

We will only use personal information for the purpose for which it was given, or for directly related purposes. We disclose information only in circumstances permitted by the Privacy Act, such as when:

    • You have consented to the disclosure
    • You would reasonably expect, or have been made aware, that information is shared with certain parties
    • It is required or authorised by law
    • It is necessary to provide services you have requested

    Disclosure to Overseas Recipients

In accordance with the Privacy Act, some personal information may be disclosed to third parties outside Australia. These parties may only use information for the identified purpose and must handle it in accordance with this Policy and the Privacy Act.

Your information may be stored or processed in secure data centres located in Australia, the United States, or other countries where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any overseas transfer.

    Third-Party Service Providers

We engage third-party service providers to deliver services and may share information with them. These services may include:

    • Payment processing (Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay)
    • Cloud hosting and data storage
    • Analytics and data analysis
    • Email and communication services
    • Technical support services
    • Subscription management (RevenueCat)
    • AI-powered receipt and document scanning (Anthropic)

We take reasonable steps to ensure third-party providers comply with the Privacy Act and handle your information consistently with this policy.

    AI-Powered Receipt and Document Scanning

BGinvo offers an optional receipt and document scanning feature. When you choose to scan a receipt or document, the image or PDF you upload is securely transmitted to and processed by Anthropic, PBC (“Anthropic”), a United States–based artificial intelligence provider, using its Claude models. Anthropic automatically reads the document and extracts details such as the merchant name, date, line items, amounts, tax/GST, and currency so we can pre-fill your expense or invoice for you to review.

    • This feature is optional — document contents are only sent to Anthropic when you actively choose to scan a receipt or document.
    • The document and the extracted data are processed solely to return the extraction to you.
    • Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.
    • Because Anthropic processes the data in the United States, using this feature involves an overseas disclosure of the information contained in the document you upload (see “Disclosure to Overseas Recipients” above).

If you prefer not to have a document processed by Anthropic, you can simply enter the details manually instead of using the scanning feature.

    Website Usage and Cookies

You may browse our website without providing personal information. When you visit, we may collect:

    • Cookies: Small files stored on your device to save preferences and improve your experience. You can decline cookies, but some features may not function properly.
    • Navigational information: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referral source, and geographic location. This helps us improve our website.

For more details, see our Cookie Policy. You may also review our Terms of Use.

    Information Storage and Security

BGinvo is committed to taking all reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

    • All employees, contractors, and agents are bound by confidentiality obligations
    • We use electronic database systems with security features to protect data integrity
    • Data is stored in secure data centres with appropriate access controls
    • We use encryption technology for data transmission and storage

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and notifying us of any suspected unauthorised access.

    Data Retention

As an invoicing platform, certain personal and financial information, including invoices, transactions, and account records, may be retained for up to 5 years to comply with Australian accounting and legal obligations.

After the retention period, personal data will be securely deleted or de-identified. Data provided for technical support is generally returned, destroyed, or de-identified once your issue is resolved.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.

Access to Information and Your Rights

The Privacy Act provides you with the right to access and correct personal information we hold. You may:

    • Request details of personal information we hold about you
    • Request correction of any inaccurate information
    • Export your personal data
    • Opt out of marketing communications
    • Request deletion of your account (subject to legal requirements)
    • Lodge a complaint about a breach of Privacy Principles

We have internal procedures to handle such requests and may require verification of your identity. We will generally provide access or make corrections where reasonable and practicable in accordance with the Privacy Act.

    Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or handled your personal information inappropriately, please contact us. We will investigate your complaint and respond within a reasonable timeframe.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
